Along with the above mentioned, people with a cancer diagnosis may experience lymphedema from blocked or removed lymph vessels due to surgeries or radiation treatment. Lymphedema is swelling mostly found in the arms or legs but can be experienced in the trunk/abdomen region. Other symptoms of lymphedema include heaviness in a limb, pain, infections, weakness, and/or loss of range of motion.
Our staff is highly trained in reducing the effects of lymphedema in order to improve your quality of life. Treatments include:
- Manual lymphatic drainage with or without the HIVAMAT
- Heart rate variability training
- Nutritional education
- Teaching you and your family how to perform self-manual lymphatic drainage
- Wrapping and/or bandaging
- Compression garment measuring and fitting
- Myofascial release
- Skin care routine
